Finding more connectors in the catalog Beginner

Beyond the popular apps in this section, many more connectors exist. Here's how to look for the app you use and add it.

What you'll learn

  • How to search for a connector
  • What to do if there isn't one

Before you start

1. Look in Connect apps

  1. Click Connect apps in the sidebar.
  2. Search or scroll for your app.
  3. Connect it and sign in on the app's own page, as in What is a connector.

2. Or just ask your bot

Is there a connector for QuickBooks? If so, help me add it.

Your bot can look it up and walk you through it.

3. If there's no connector

Your bot can often still use the app's website with its own browser (Quick Start Step 10). When a site needs a login, the bot uses a login saved in the Vault or asks you through a secure form, so it never sees the password. Some services also offer an API (a way for programs to talk to them); see What is an API?

4. Check what it can do

After connecting, ask "What can you do with this app?" Connectors differ: some only read, some can also create and change things.

Ideas to try

  • Bookkeeping.
Is there a connector for my accounting app? If not, can you use its website?
  • Shop owner.
Which connectors would help me run a small Etsy-style shop?
  • Family organizing.
Find a connector for a shared to-do or notes app my family could use.
  • Check-up.
List the apps I've connected and tell me which ones I haven't used lately.

Tips

  • Prefer a connector over browser clicking when one exists; it's more reliable.
  • Remove connections you no longer use.
  • On a work account, ask your admin if an app shows as disabled.
